Mohamed Makarem
Mohamed was born in Cairo, Egypt and completed his education by earning a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Cairo University in Horticulture. In 1971, he immigrated to the United States where he worked and attended the University of Minnesota, eventually earning my Masters of Science degree in plant breeding in 1977.
During that time Mohamed met his wife, Heidi, who he eventually married in 1979. They have two children, Lindsay and Marc. Lindsay is 31 years old and is a graduate from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN. She works for Capella University out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Marc is 28 years old and graduated from the University of Minnesota, Duluth and works for Proto Labs out of Maple Plain, Minnesota.
In 1977, Mohamed became a U.S. citizen while also becoming licensed as an insurance agent with Bankers Life and Causality of Chicago. Within a year of joining the company, he was promoted to Branch Manager where he stayed for seven years managing and selling financial planning, property and casualty insurance.
In 1990, Mohamed joined Combined Insurance Company as a Branch Manager where he built a very successful branch in a short time. His team started with two agents and within eighteen months grew to twenty-five. In his time at Combined, he was able to promote five agents to become his assistant managers and also received many awards for outstanding performance. After twenty-two years of managerial duties, he decided to retire in 2006.
Being active all of his life, he didn’t stay retired for long, and in 2006 he joined Golden Care USA. Mohamed says the best thing about working for Golden Care USA is that he is able to serve his clients with a wide option of products to serve their needs and budget best.
